TAMPA, FL--(Marketwire - November 18, 2010) - Sage Healthcare Division, a unit of Sage North America, announced today it has been named as a group purchasing vendor of electronic health record (EHR) systems and services by the Pennsylvania Regional Extension and Assistance Center for Health Information Technology (PA REACH). Sage will make the ONC-ATCB certified Sage Intergy Meaningful Use Edition available at discounted pricing to participating healthcare providers throughout the state.

PA REACH (East and West), under cooperative agreements with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), will provide technical assistance to "priority" primary care physician practices seeking to implement an EHR system and to use it to improve the quality of care. PA REACH is part of an extensive network of 62 Regional Extension Centers across North America that are intended to serve as an unbiased source for EHR and health information technology (HIT) as providers seek to navigate EHR options and select vendors that meet ONC "meaningful use" requirements.

Clinics eligible to receive subsidized technical assistance from the RECs include primary care providers in family medicine, obstetrics, and gynecology, general internal or pediatric medicine, practicing in either individual or small group practices (defined as 10 or fewer professionals with prescriptive privileges); public and critical access hospitals; and community health centers and rural health clinics.
