According to data from the Fairchild Bridal Group, 28 percent of all American engagements happen over the holiday season, with 19 percent occurring in December alone. While speculation is that Kate and William are only taking eight months to organize all of the details of their nuptials before the big day, most American couples wait an average of 17 months before they tie the knot. In addition to planning the wedding itself, couples also need to be prepared for a significant amount of legal and financial "I Do's."
