MetroStar Systems Launches StarLabs for Mobile Application and Enterprise Collaborative Development

Company's New Initiative to Develop Synergistic Solutions for Public and Private Sectors

RESTON, VA--(Marketwire - February 23, 2011) - MetroStar Systems, a leader in full-service information technology (IT) and strategies for new media and enterprise collaboration, today announced it has launched its StarLabs, which will conceive, design, and develop collaborative tools and mobile applications for customers in the public and private sectors. StarLabs will focus on multimodal application development that will allow for interpersonal connection, education, entertainment, and service consumption, as well as develop Microsoft® SharePoint solutions and expand its contributions to the Drupal and WordPress community.

"StarLabs will focus on advancements in digital platforms (mobile and web), and will provide our customers a high level of engagement maximizing effectiveness through visualization, entertainment, and education. Furthermore, the team's creativity and diversity is a proven mix of talent that will inspire one another to continually excel," said Ali Reza Manouchehri, CEO and co-founder of MetroStar Systems. "Today's mobile society demands that businesses and government agencies cater to individuals 'on-the-go.' Our StarLabs provides the 'high engagement value' to connect organizations to their employees and customers at all times, providing meaningful information sharing and project results," he added.

The StarLabs team has already developed two supporting SharePoint solutions that seamlessly integrate into existing SharePoint platforms: ShareIt and VisualizeItShareIt allows users to easily and quickly share content housed in SharePoint lists and libraries via an intuitive interface. VisualizeIt is a visual search function for SharePoint content that allows users easier accessibility to data, customized search filtering, and interactivity within SharePoint.

The StarLabs are housed in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF)-ready environment that is able to support enterprise development for the defense and intelligence communities, and will be led by Matt Louderback, the Lab's Chief Mobile Architect and Jorge Vasquez, the Lab's Chief Systems Architect. "We are extremely pleased to be leading the MetroStar Systems StarLabs efforts," said Louderback. "The team is made up of incredibly gifted developers and artists, and I look forward to continuing to work with them to produce solutions that help our customers achieve their web and mobile goals, as well as meet their mission objectives."
