President, Ken Coran Delivers the State of the Union Address to 800 Delegates, Alternates and Guests from Across Ontario at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12

Eight hundred delegates, alternates and guests from all parts of the province will attend this year's Annual Meeting of the Provincial Assembly of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation (OSSTF/FEESO).

President, Ken Coran will deliver the state of the union address at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and will be available for interviews at noon after the Minister of Education delivers her remarks.

During the annual meeting, Lisa Swayhoover, National Education Association (NEA) representative, the Honourable Leona Dombrowsky, Minister of Education; and Andrea Horwath, Leader of the Ontario New Democratic Party (ONDP), will address the delegates.

Media representatives are welcome throughout all three days of the assembly. Please report to the credentials desk in the Grand Ballroom foyer to pick up media passes.

ASSEMBLY HIGHLIGHTS

Saturday, March 12
09:30 President Ken Coran will deliver the state of the union address.
09:45 Lisa Swayhoover, NEA representative, will address the delegates about the assault on unions and workers' rights in Wisconsin.
11:00 The Honourable Leona Dombrowsky, Minister of Education, will address the delegates followed by a question and answer period.
11:30 Presentation of the Student Achievement Awards in honour of Marion Drysdale. This moving ceremony honours students from across the province.
 
Monday, March 14
11:30 Andrea Horwath, Leader of the ONDP will address the delegates.

OSSTF/FEESO, founded in 1919, has 60,000 members across Ontario. They include public high school teachers, occasional teachers, educational assistants, continuing education teachers and instructors, early childhood educators, psychologists, secretaries, speech-language pathologists, social workers, plant support personnel, university support staff, and many others in education.
