Human Rights Watch Chooses Serenic Navigator Software

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - March 24, 2011) - Serenic Corporation (TSX VENTURE:SER), ("Serenic" or the "Corporation"), a leading publisher of financial management and business operations software for nonprofits, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the public sector, announced today that Serenic Navigator nonprofit accounting software has been chosen by Human Rights Watch.

Human Rights Watch is one of the world's leading independent organizations dedicated to defending and protecting human rights around the globe. Human Rights Watch conducts investigations and presses for an end to human rights abuses in more than 90 countries, among them some of the most dangerous and oppressed places on Earth.

To accommodate its continuing international expansion and its future growth plans, Human Rights Watch needed a financial software solution that could handle multiple currencies in its cloud computing environment. It wanted to provide access to financial records across the globe and eliminate the manual double data entry and currency conversions previously required of its employees in the field and at its New York headquarters. After reviewing several products, Human Rights Watch chose Serenic Navigator with Serenic Portals, which will be tailored for the organization's unique expense and time entry processes.

"Navigator will help us maintain a global picture of our human rights investments around the world, while keeping an up-to-date snapshot of local requirements in the many different countries where we work," said Human Rights Watch Deputy Director of Finance Jay SchwartzCoffey. "Serenic really understands the needs of NGOs like us to help our employees around the globe operate more independently with more timely access to streamlined financial information."

Serenic is installing Navigator for Human Rights Watch's 15 concurrent users and 300 Portal users. Using Portals for expense approvals will expedite purchase approvals and can integrate with Microsoft Outlook for internal communication.

"Human Rights Watch is a great example of how an NGO can leverage Serenic Navigator to help employees better manage financials across geographies and currencies," said Serenic CEO and President Randy Keith. "Serenic offers secure access to information and the ability to easily enter data through the web, so that remote employees don't have to worry about downloading updated software or sifting through multiple spreadsheet reports."
