Half of Americans Think Mom Wants a New Dishwasher Reveals Bosch Survey

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - May 4, 2011) - While you can't give mom the gift of time for Mother's Day, the least you can do is help her save time in the kitchen. According to the results of a national survey fielded by Impulse Research on behalf of Bosch home appliances, 50 percent of Americans think Mom would prefer a new dishwasher -- over other kitchen appliances -- to make her life easier.

After the dishwasher, 23 percent of Americans think their moms would prefer a new stove or oven, followed by 19 percent who think moms would like a new refrigerator and only 8 percent who think a new coffee maker tops mom's list. Interestingly, moms evidently do have a love affair with their dishwashers and think it saves them the most time in the kitchen. One third of mothers surveyed said that out of all of their kitchen appliances, the dishwasher is the appliance they love the most.

"Many mothers will probably tell you that one of their biggest wants is simply having more time. So, we wanted to find out which household appliances help make moms' lives easier -- and clearly, the dishwasher is the winner," said Stephanie Hutaff, Senior Product Manager of Dishwashers for Bosch home appliances. "Whisper-quiet Bosch dishwashers efficiently tackle dishes so that Mom can enjoy more time with her family."

While the complete Bosch line of dishwashers are among the quietest and most efficient dishwashers on the market, the new Bosch 800 Plus dishwasher, available this June, will operate at an industry-low 39 dBA, while using less than 2 gallons of water per cycle and 180 kWh/year. Additionally, all Bosch dishwashers are ENERGY STAR qualified.
