Mystery-Word Game LINGO Now Available on GSN.com

Fans of the GSN Game Show Can Now Play Online

WALTHAM, MA--(Marketwire - Jun 6, 2011) - Bring on the mystery words! GSN Digital, the interactive division of GSN (Game Show Network), today announced the availability of a free, flash game based on the brand new iteration of LINGO hosted by comedian Bill Engvall, which premieres tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on GSN.

The online game will follow a similar format to the original LINGO mystery-word game show, which was launched in 2002. Players will be presented with the first letter of a five-letter word and will have the chance to fill in the missing letters to complete the word. A green square will appear around letters guessed correctly, and a yellow circle will be placed around letters that are in the word but are not in the correct position. Players have three minutes to correctly solve five words in the main round in order to move on to the Bonus round. After completing the main round, players advance to the LINGO round where they choose five balls to try to complete a LINGO across, down or diagonally to receive a scoring bonus. Those who make it to the Bonus round have 60 seconds to solve as many words as possible for an even higher score. Players' high scores land them on daily, weekly and monthly leaderboards, where they can earn coveted Oodles, GSN.com's virtual "currency" redeemable for sweepstakes entries and real prizes.

"We're thrilled to give our LINGO game show fans and GSN.com players a competitive way to enjoy LINGO from home," said Peter Blacklow, executive vice president of GSN Digital. "LINGO is a fun, challenging and suspenseful game that GSN viewers love, and our GSN.com players are sure to be big fans as well."

In the coming months, LINGO fans will also be able to play anytime, anywhere via a mobile version of the online game available for the iPhone and Android devices.

The format rights to LINGO are controlled by All3Media International.
