StrikeForce Technologies Finds 99% of Organizations Fail to Encrypt Keystrokes and Expose Critical Data Fueling Cyber War

'Out-of-Band' Authentication With Keystroke Encryption Necessary for Next Protection Paradigm

EDISON, NJ--(Marketwire - Jun 9, 2011) - The cyber war is raging in the first nanometer; the virtual space between keyboard and application where keyloggers steal unencrypted user data. StrikeForce Technologies (OTCQB: SFOR) (PINKSHEETS: SFOR) has determined that less than 1 percent of organizations encrypt data at the point of creation -- the keystroke. This has enabled the rise in keylogging attacks through which hackers have seized the high ground.

The latest attacks, following the RSA break-ins, use keylogging to steal user logins, passwords, account and social security numbers, and other critical personal data. After targeted phishing attacks deliver malware that outsmarts anti-virus software, keyloggers colonize systems to steal unencrypted keystrokes. That information is transmitted back to hackers anywhere in the world who can then mimic authorized users to steal information sensitive to companies' and consumers' intellectual property and to national security.

100 percent of organizations use anti-virus tools, but they're not stopping new malware. 30,000 organizations use RSA, but with cracked algorithms hackers can mimic authorized users. Less than 2 percent of organizations use 'Out-of-Band' authentication, which seems poised to become the new standard. And "less than one percent of companies encrypt data at the point of creation," says Mark Kay, CEO for StrikeForce Technologies. "Keyloggers are already inside the systems most companies think are secure, so keystroke encryption in the first nanometer, along with 'Out-of-Band' authentication, is needed now," Kay says.

'Out-of-Band' authenticates the user actively through a separate channel, such as a phone, to verify identity. Keystroke encryption, between the keyboard and the application, encrypts what keyloggers intercept, rendering them ineffective. These techniques together represent the next protection paradigm necessary to reestablish data security as the cyber war accelerates.
