Marks Paneth & Shron LLP Names State and Local Taxation Specialist as Principal in Tax Group

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Jun 13, 2011) - New York-area accounting firm Marks Paneth & Shron LLP (MP&S) has appointed state and local tax (SALT) specialist Steven P. Bryde, JD, 57, as a principal in the firm's Tax Group.

Mr. Bryde has approximately 25 years of public accounting experience and has worked in both global and regional firms. He most recently served as a tax principal at MBAF-ERE CPAs LLC, a New York City based accounting and consulting firm.

His broad background also includes experience working in industry. Mr. Bryde spent 7 years as a tax attorney for a global energy corporation. In that position, he was involved with international as well as federal, state and local taxation.

Mr. Bryde will use his state and local tax expertise across the 50 states to benefit MP&S's client base by developing tax saving ideas, providing counsel in mergers and acquisitions, business entity choice/formation and tax controversy representation as well as SALT planning for foreign inbound and U.S. outbound clients.

He is admitted to practice before the New York State Supreme Court, the Federal District Court (Southern and Eastern Districts) and the US Tax Court.
