Brita(R) FilterForGood(R) Joins Dave Matthews Band Caravan to Reduce Bottled Water Waste All Summer Long

Music fans can make a sustainable difference for the environment with small changes

OAKLAND, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 21, 2011) - The Brita® FilterForGood® team is hitting the road this summer to encourage music fans to reduce their bottled water waste at the first-ever Dave Matthews Band Caravan a series of three-day festivals across the country -- each night being headlined by Dave Matthews Band as well as other popular artists. Dates include Atlantic City June 24-26, Chicago July 8-10, New York City August 26-28, and the famous Gorge Amphitheater in George, Wash. September 2-4.

Brita FilterForGood was invited to hop on Dave Matthews Band Caravan to support the festival's sustainability efforts by providing fans and performers access to free Brita® filtered water. Festival-goers can ditch their bottled water and instead fill up using reusable bottles so that everyone has an opportunity to help reduce the festival's environmental footprint. Dave Matthews Band Caravan production crew and artists will be bottled water free backstage.

"We've found that when people are given easy access to things that will help them make greener choices, they are moved to make a difference," said Dave Matthews Band. "We think our fans want to reduce their impact on the environment and we want to help make it easier for them to do that. By teaming up with Brita FilterForGood for the second summer in a row, we're continuing to give our fans a positive alternative that helps reduce plastic bottle waste while setting an example for environmentally conscious practices and responsible touring in the music industry."

Dave Matthews Band's Warehouse fan club ticketholders will receive a complimentary special Dave Matthews Band edition Brita FilterForGood Nalgene® bottle, also available for purchase at Caravan. Or, fans can bring their own reusable bottle to fill up at Brita® Hydration Stations™ by Haws Corporation® and stay hydrated while jamming out to the bands. About Dave Matthews Band
In the past decade, Dave Matthews Band was the biggest ticket seller worldwide; selling upwards of 11 million tickets to 547 shows from 2000-2009, according to Billboard Boxscore. In fact, it was the only group to exceed 10 million in attendance for the period. The band has sold over 17 million tickets since its inception. Along with being the industry's biggest ticket seller, the band has been a leader in introducing new and innovative sustainability initiatives. The band was an early adopter and proponent of tour CO2 offsets (taking the unprecedented step of offsetting ALL its emissions since it started touring in 1991), introduced offset and car-pooling options for fans, and created the groundbreaking So Much To Save parking lot recycling program. These and many other initiatives dramatically reduce the band's environmental footprint and also give their fans the tools to easily do the right thing for the planet. Dave Matthews Band has raised the bar annually on sustainability in the music industry.
