HP's Former Vice President Garry Veale Joins Violin Memory as Managing Director of Its European Division

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 12, 2011) - Violin Memory, Inc., provider of the world's fastest and most scalable Memory Arrays, today announced that Garry Veale, the former vice president (VP) and general manager of Hewlett-Packard's EMEA StorageWorks Division, has joined Violin Memory as managing director of its European division. Having led the $2 billion EMEA StorageWorks Division at HP, Veale will drive the aggressive growth and go-to market strategies for Violin Memory's full range of products and solutions in EMEA.

Veale has a broad technology background and significant field sales, marketing and operations experience in EMEA, having worked in the industry for more than 20 years. Prior to his tenure at HP, he was the executive VP of Global Sales and Services at COPAN Systems. In addition, Veale served in several executive positions at EMC Corporation in North America and Europe, including global VP of 'Go to Market,' VP of Northern EMEA and VP of EMEA Channels and Partners. After being part of the original EMC UK/EMEA start-up team in 1987, Veale went on to gain further experience with several director level positions at IBM and Hitachi Data Systems.
