Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel Salutes Nation's Space Legacy and Those Who Contributed to Its Success With Two Special Offers

Guests Also Will Have the Opportunity to Personally Meet Astronauts in Hotel Lobby on Select Dates

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL--(Marketwire - Aug 2, 2011) - Since the Space Shuttle Program has completed its final mission, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel is honoring the nation's space legacy with special offers for guests, NASA employees and contractors.

Any guest can book the Salute to Space package at the Orlando Hotel and receive a 20 percent savings on accommodations, with room rates starting at $129 per night. The package also offers guests a special savings from National Car Rental so they can explore Florida's Space Coast, where all 135 shuttle missions launched.

For an additional close encounter, guests visiting the hotel on Aug. 12, 19 and 26 will have the opportunity to personally meet an astronaut in the Dolphin lobby. From 5 - 7pm on those dates, guests can greet either astronaut Jon McBride (Aug. 12 & 26) or astronaut Bob Springer (Aug. 19), and enter a raffle to win a signed NASA collector's item. Afterwards, families can enjoy a space-themed Dive-in Movie projected on a large screen at the hotel's pool.

As a special tribute for those responsible for our nation's space program, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel is introducing a NASA appreciation rate for current and former NASA employees and contractors, starting at $135 per night, celebrating the 135 missions of the space shuttle. The special rate is good through Sept. 30 and requires a NASA ID to be presented upon check-in.

The Salute to Space offer is available for stays through Dec. 25. For more information or to reserve, guests can visit www.swandolphin.com or call 1-800-227-1500. Offers subject to availability.
