Practical Law Company Launches 'Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation' Service and Announces Panel of Legal Industry Leaders to Advisory Board

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Oct 18, 2011) - Practical Law Company (PLC), a provider of practical legal know-how to law firms, law departments and law schools, today announced the official launch of its newest online service for law firms, "PLCEmployee Benefits & Executive Compensation" (PLCEBEC). Like PLC's other services, PLCEBEC was designed to address the needs of frontline attorneys to help them meet client demands for greater value and increased efficiency.

Coinciding with its latest service, PLC also announced the addition of seven members to its Advisory Board, a prestigious panel of expert attorneys specializing in employee benefits and executive compensation law. The new Advisory Board members will help PLC shape the direction of its newest service and will act as high-level consultants, advising on emerging trends and practice developments.

The new members are industry leaders in their areas of practice and include Alvin Brown of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP; Daniel Hogans of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP; Christine Keller of Groom Law Group, Chartered; Prof. Kathryn Kennedy of John Marshall Law School; Andrew Oringer of Ropes & Gray LLP; Howard Pianko of Seyfarth Shaw LLP; and Marc Trevino of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP.

"Unlike traditional legal publishers, Practical Law Company addresses the increased pressures and needs of today's legal market," says Jeroen Plink, CEO of PLC US. "Lawyers at all levels, whether in firms or corporate legal departments, need to practice more efficiently, spend less time reinventing the wheel and more time on high-value, client-facing work. Our resources allow them to do just that."

Since launching in the US in 2009, PLC now has US subscribers that include approximately 70% of the AmLaw 200 and over 450 legal departments. With the addition of PLCEBEC, PLC now offers over 11 practice areas to law firms in addition to its law department offering for in-house counsel. PLC will launch another new service, PLCLabor & Employment, later this month.
