Entertainment Games Announces "Pilot Episode" in Retro World

Nostalgia-Based Social Game Released on Facebook November 8, 2011

LANGHORNE, Pa., Nov. 8, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Social and Casual games developer and publisher Entertainment Games, Inc. (OTC Pink:EGAM) announced today the launch of its first interactive adventure show in Retro World, via Facebook at: http://apps.facebook.com/retroworld

Retro World, a social game created specifically for the burgeoning 40+ demographic, paves the way for an entirely new genre of social game by blending enduring story-driven adventure gameplay, engaging TV show-like storylines, addictive casual games, and music inspired by the sounds of past eras. Produced on the Heyday Engine, a groundbreaking, patented technology, Retro World is presented entirely using rich and evocative photographic imagery authentic to past decades (the 1950s through 1980s). This innovative visual approach to storytelling and gameplay sets Retro World apart from the Saturday morning cartoon look of most other social and mobile games.

The pilot launch of Retro World includes a hands-on tutorial hosted by Dick Clark and the inaugural pilot episode of OWL Files, a Get Smart-style spoof set in the early1960's, complete with Russian spies, space race themes, and futuristic gadgetry. New interactive adventure shows and episodes, as well as a wide array of social hooks and new features, will begin flowing soon after launch.

"OWL Files is the first of many pilots we will be testing with 'Retrotainment Fans,'" said Gene Mauro, President of Entertainment Games. "This initial release is innovative and imperfect so we'll be monitoring our audience reaction carefully and will course correct in the direction they want to take Retro World," Mauro added.

Today's announcement follows recent licensing deals with Elvis Presley Enterprises, CMG Worldwide, and Dick Clark Productions, signaling the company's ambitious plan to feature celebrities including Elvis Presley, John Belushi, and Dick Clark not only as characters in episodes of Retro World shows, but also as in-game avatars that players can appear as in the game. The company plans on announcing deals with film and TV studios around iconic shows and films from the past.
