Asian Bamboo and DEG enter into another loan agreement

Hamburg, 4 December 2011 - Asian Bamboo AG ('Asian Bamboo ', the 'Company',
ISIN: DE000A0M6M79, ticker symbol '5AB', ADR trading symbol 'ASIBY'), a
leading integrated company in the bamboo industry, is pleased to announce
that it has entered into another loan agreement with DEG - Deutsche
Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH, the German development
finance institution, with the following key terms:

Amount:   Up to USD 20 million
Term:     7 years
Use of proceeds: Financing of plantation leases
Other terms:  Environmental and Social Action Plan ('ESAP)

This loan agreement is in addition to the loan agreement entered into
between Asian Bamboo and DEG on 16 September 2009. This means that the
Company's total borrowings from DEG are up to USD 35 million.

In line with DEG's common practice when entering into a long-term
relationship, the two parties have developed an environmental and social
action plan ('ESAP') which will further align Asian Bamboo's operations
with international best practice in terms of environmental and social
responsibilities.
