Tech Data Hosts Inaugural Women in Leadership Event

Interactive Panel Celebrates Women's History Month; Features Tech Data Board Member Kathleen Misunas and Other Female Executives

CLEARWATER, Fla., March 19, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tech Data Corporation (Nasdaq:TECD) hosted its inaugural 2012 Women in Leadership event today at the Company's headquarters in Clearwater, Fla. The event, presented by Tech Data's Diversity & Inclusion Council and Women in Leadership committee in celebration of Women's History Month, featured an interactive panel of female business leaders who shared their personal and professional journeys with over 200 attendees. Based on similar, highly successful workshop concepts at the Company's 2011 Channel Link conferences in Orlando and Los Angeles, today's panel was the first in a planned series of workshops featuring local, regional and national female business leaders.

"Tech Data is proud to celebrate Women's History Month and offer the opportunity for our people to hear from a remarkable panel of accomplished female leaders," said Caryl Lucarelli, vice president of Human Resources at Tech Data. "Our panel represents a broad range of career and industry experiences. By bringing this highly successful forum in-house, Tech Data has created an opportunity to invest in personal and professional development by learning from others, sharing experiences, networking with peers and adding new skills."

Kathleen Misunas, a member of the Tech Data's Board of Directors since 2000, was the keynote speaker and a participant in the panel discussion. Also participating in the panel were Pamela Huddleston Bickford, founder and CEO of Cherokee Data Solutions, Nina Lutjens, vice president of Sales, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Abby Meave, director of Logistics at Tech Data, and Karen Mincey, vice president and Chief Information Officer at TECO Energy.

Tech Data's Women in Leadership Committee, a cross-functional team of female leaders, operates with a fundamental goal of creating an environment where Tech Data associates can benefit by hearing from females in leadership, invest in self-awareness and development, broaden awareness, and gain personal and professional growth.
