Cegedim Strategic Data releases NHS GP practice level prescribing data for England in its MultiView software platform

London, April 19, 2012 - CSD - Cegedim Strategic Data, leading provider of healthcare market research announces the release of NHS practice level prescribing data for England in its powerful MultiView analysis software.

CSD are working extensively with this new data source, first made available by the NHS health and Social Care Information Centre in December 2011, to make it as easily accessible and user-friendly as possible to sales and marketing teams across the UK pharmaceutical industry.  CSD's MultiView software, already widely used by over 30 UK companies to access and analyse CSD's comprehensive Promotion and Patient databases, is the ideal solution to leverage the prescribing data by molecule at national, SHA, PCO and practice level.

Adding Value

While the basic practice level data are freely available on the Information Centre website, CSD is maximising the insight that can be derived from the data through integration with its proprietary research datasets, Cegedim OneKey (the UK's leading physician database), other NHS information and third party intelligence.

Adam Harris, Commercial Director at CSD UK, commented "Many of our clients are looking for a convenient way to access the very large NHS files and CSD MultiView offers a familiar solution.  In addition, by providing the ability to link to OneKey and building in other NHS data like QOF list sizes and product formulary status, clients' sales activity and CSD's comprehensive analysis of competitors' promotional strategies, companies now have a very strong basis for assessing brand potential and return on investment at an individual practice level".

Glen Davis, Business Information Manager at Bayer agrees, saying "Having analysed CSD's patient and promotion data in MultiView for a number of years I'm delighted that I can now use the same system to track recent prescribing right down to practice level".

Further enhancements are likely to be made to the product information released by the NHS Health and Social Care Information Centre later in the year.  With its unique integration and analysis capabilities, CSD remains committed to adding maximum value to these data for the industry.
