City of McKinney Awards EMS Billing Services Contract to Digitech

EMS Billing Services Deal Means More Effective Collections for McKinney

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y., May 24, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The City of McKinney, Texas, today inked an agreement naming Digitech Computer, Inc. as the recipient of the contract awarded for Emergency Medical Services Billing and Collection Service. Digitech will collect fees charged to individuals who are provided emergency transports by the City of McKinney Fire Department. The contract is for a three year term with two additional one year renewal options. McKinney, located 30 miles north of downtown Dallas, is marked as one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in America, and was ranked #5 on Money Magazine's August 2010 list of the Best Places to Live in the country. McKinney officials, mindful of increasing demand for emergency transport services in the city, wanted an efficient billing solution that could integrate seamlessly with the electronic patient care reporting system already in use in the City's ambulances and emergency transport vehicles. Digitech filled the bill on both scores, winning the award against multiple bidders that included some of the largest service providers in the EMS billing industry.

Kyle Easley, Chief of McKinney Emergency Medical Services, stated that he looks forward to the new EMS Billing partnership. "Digitech brings a customer-focused approach to the table that's backed by solid technology and tested processes," he said, "We're anticipating increased efficiency for our ambulance billing and improvements to bottom line revenue that we can put back into better training and equipment for our medics and EMTs."

"Efficient handling of claims will make a difference in the quality of care that we can bring to the people of McKinney," commented Chief Daniel Kistner, Fire Chief for the McKinney Fire Department. "We're counting on Digitech to help us provide better service to our constituents."

Digitech's highly trained EMS billing services team relieves the client of day-to-day ambulance billing responsibilities, providing more freedom for them to run their operations. The Company has been offering technology and billing services to the medical transportation industry since 1984.

Mark Schiowitz, President of Digitech Computer Inc., said in response to the announcement, "We're thrilled to bring our dedicated EMS billing solution to McKinney. Our goal is to ensure that McKinney's firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics will be able to focus more time and attention on the things they do best – responding to emergencies and providing quality patient care – while we handle the administrative duties and improve revenue from collections."
