Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center Commends Canadian Government for Moral Leadership on Iran

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 7, 2012) - Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) commends Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird and the Canadian government for once again demonstrating strong moral leadership in severing all ties with Iran.

"Canada has rightly noted that Iran poses the most significant threat to peace and security in the world, and has sent an important signal to the leaders of the brutal Iranian regime that they cannot continue to export terror and threaten our allies with impunity," said Avi Benlolo, President and CEO of FSWC. "All Canadians should be proud that Canada has taken this ethical stand; it is my profound hope that the leaders of other western democracies will soon follow suit," he added.

In addition to its ongoing nuclear build-up and increasingly frenzied anti-Israel aggression, intelligence reports say Iran is intensifying its support for the slaughter in Syria with plans to send 150 senior revolutionary guards to help prop up Bashar al-Assad.
