Naxos of America Launches Classical and Jazz Labels Based in Austria, France, Great Britain and the United States for Distribution in October 2012

FRANKLIN, TN--(Marketwire - Oct 5, 2012) - The #1 independent classical music distributor in the U.S. and Canada, Naxos of America, welcomes Toccata Classics, Laborie Classique and Jazz, Seraphic Fire Media and Vienna Philharmonic's new label to its family of distributed labels.

The independent label Toccata Classics was created expressly to explore unjustly neglected repertoire. Unlike other labels that do this in conjunction with more mainstream works, Toccata is tackling this wealth of forgotten music, with many recordings that are wholly world premieres. Examples of this are previously unrecorded Lassus motets and Palestrina masses, music by Palestrina's successor Giovanni Maria Nanino, Nordic, Baltic and South American composers.

The Fondation La Borie has been welcoming musicians and composers with a strong musical project in an effort to help them build their careers since 2002. The labels Laborie Classique and Laborie Jazz, created in 2006, continues this action by supporting these artists, giving them in that context an opportunity to bring out their best. Youth talents and consummate professionals from both French and international musical scenes meet today at Laborie to create a new entity, a particular tribe whose only wish is that you appreciate the qualities of a free artist.

Seraphic Fire Media, the label of the Miami-based Seraphic Fire and the Firebird Chamber Orchestra, has had large success with its nine recording projects. In addition to two 2012 GRAMMY® nominations for Brahms: Ein Deutsches Requiem and A Seraphic Fire Christmas, the label's discs have debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Classical charts and No. 1 on the iTunes Classical charts.

The Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the city of Vienna's renowned orchestra proudly presents the first production of its own, newly founded label "Wiener Symphoniker." This new label is planning to focus on programmatically well thought-out high-quality recording projects in response to a recording industry which is otherwise more and more focused on individual stars and starlets.
