Xirrus Appoints Steve Mallard as Vice President, America Sales

Ex-EMC, Network Appliance, Riverbed and Sun Microsystems Executive Brings Strong Channel Program Expertise to Support Xirrus' Explosive Growth

THOUSAND OAKS, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 10, 2012) - Xirrus®, the leader in high-performance wireless networks, today announced the appointment of Steve Mallard as vice president of America sales. He will be responsible for aggressively growing Xirrus revenues and augmenting Xirrus' expanding channel program across North and South America. Mallard will report to Xirrus CEO Shane Buckley.

With a 25-year career spanning the I.T. infrastructure, software and security markets, Mallard has a strong track record of building record-performing sales teams at high-growth companies. As the fifth sales person at Riverbed, Mallard ascended to become worldwide sales director of the year in 2007.

"From The Wall Street Journal ranking us number two on its 'Next Big Thing' list to esteemed executives like Steve joining our company, we are entering the fourth quarter with tremendous momentum," said Buckley. "Steve's record speaks for itself, having driven explosive sales growth for both start-ups and established technology leaders including EMC, NetApp, Riverbed, and Sun Microsystems. We are proud to welcome him to the Xirrus family."

Prior to joining Xirrus, Mallard was vice president of worldwide sales at Mu Dynamics, a leading provider of network performance and security test solutions. At Mu, Mallard's sales organization delivered record annual bookings and expanded internationally into Asia and Europe, resulting in the company's successful acquisition by Spirent Communications. Steve holds a BS degree in computer science from the University of Leeds, UK.

"I recognize that Xirrus continues to set new standards as a renowned leader in the Wi-Fi industry, and I am honored to join such a respected company," said Mallard. "As technology advances and the bring-your-own-device trend continues to grow, the demand for wireless computing with wired-like performance becomes ever greater. Xirrus is in the perfect position to capitalize on this explosive market opportunity, and I look forward to helping the company achieve the next level of success."
