Retro Fitness to Offer Live P90X Classes

Strategic Partnership Brings America's No. 1 Extreme Fitness Brand to More Than 85 Locations

COLTS NECK, N.J., Oct. 11, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Once again revolutionizing the fitness industry, Retro Fitness today announced a licensing agreement with the at-home fitness leaders Beachbody to administer live, ongoing P90X fitness classes. Through the strategic partnership, Retro Fitness will begin rolling out Beachbody's ground-breaking fitness program live with P90X Certified trainers to its 85-plus gyms.

"For years, we have shattered perceptions of the fitness industry by offering a high-quality, low-cost fitness facility to help thousands of individuals change their lives through fitness. Bringing the proven methodology of P90X into our facilities gives members another way to switch up their workouts and achieve their health and wellness goals," said Eric Casaburi, founder and CEO of Retro Fitness. "Offering members the opportunity to engage in a world-class workout like P90X shows our continued commitment to providing them with the most innovative and effective training modalities the industry has to offer. I have done this modified in-club version of the program and experienced insane results. At age 38, I'm more fit, flexible, and athletic than I was at 25."

Retro Fitness will begin rolling out P90X with more than 30 specialized trainers across its system this November. This will provide more than 100,000 Retro Fitness members access to live, daily P90X classes. P90X is a comprehensive 90-day program that consists of 12 intense workouts; including resistance training, body-weight training, plyometrics, ab work, martial arts, stretching, and yoga. Based on the science of Muscle Confusion, the structure and variety of P90X ensures that participants never plateau and can achieve outrageous results.

"We entered the commercial fitness realm with the belief that our innovative training methodologies and powerful equity in brands like P90X would be a boon to any club looking to take its business to another level just as Retro Fitness is doing," said Carl Daikeler, CEO, Beachbody, LLC. "P90X is only the first of a variety of Beachbody programs we intend to offer for Certification and we're excited to see this model validated by the successful application of P90X by clubs and franchises like Retro Fitness."

In addition to P90X classes, Retro Fitness offers a full-collection of top-of-the-line equipment, cardio machines complete with individualize LCD television monitors, a full-service RetroBlends juice bar, on-site childcare, personal training, tanning, and locker rooms. Plus, members can work up a sweat in the popular RetroTheatre that houses cardio equipment such as treadmills, ellipticals and recumbent bikes, all arranged in a theatre-like setting, and plays movies on a gigantic screen throughout the day. Retro Fitness also recently added its "Retro On Demand" group fitness classes. More than 50 group fitness classes are loaded on a kiosk for members to choose from and play on a large movie screen inside the Group Fitness rooms, which allows members to access multiple classes at their scheduling leisure.
