ParAccel Integration Extends Unconstrained Analytics to the Entire Datasphere

New On Demand Integration Unites Hadoop With All Data to Drive More Analytic Value

CAMPBELL, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 23, 2012) - Companies investing in big data technology have captured massive amounts of data, however big data file systems are proving to be difficult for running analytics and thus deriving little value from the data. To address this massive value vacuum, ParAccel, a leading enterprise analytics platform provider, today announced the next update to its Hadoop On Demand Integration (ODI) Module, as the next phase of its big data strategy for unconstrained analytics on Hadoop data. The module boasts deeper Hadoop integration, giving companies better leverage of their existing big data investments, more comprehensive and competitive analytics, and faster time to value creation.

In addition, ParAccel announced On Demand Integration Services, a database extension layer that opens up the power of its analytic platform so third parties can easily build ODI modules and continue to build out interactive connections to other platforms, applications, and data sources. ODI Services puts interactive analytics at the center of the data and technology universe compared to other approaches where analytic apps operated independently and data was inaccessible to the analyst or data scientist.

"The conversation about big data has quickly shifted to analytics and value creation," says Mark Madsen, research analyst at Third Nature. "ParAccel's ability to execute high-performance analytics on an integrated universe of big data is a unique offering in the market today. The ability to provide SQL access to Hadoop, and Hadoop access to ParAccel allows for a broader range of analytic processing than either platform can achieve alone."

The improved ParAccel Hadoop ODI makes ParAccel the first analytic platform to enable unconstrained analytics on the entire datasphere, connecting both relational and non-relational data for increased depth and value. New advancements include bi-directional sharing of data and processes with Hadoop, integration with HCatalog for metadata exchange, and certification on Cloudera's Distribution Including Apache Hadoop (CDH) (see ParAccel Cloudera partner brief).

ParAccel ODI Services provide a simple Application Programming Interface (API) to allow developers to leverage all of the parallelism, optimization, and execution of the ParAccel Analytic Platform for new ODI modules. Customers, partners, and developers will be able to rapidly develop and deploy new ODI modules, transform data in near real-time (2.5 million rows per second), and combine various remote data sources and applications for deeper analysis and richer analytic value.

"Our customers continue to push the limits of what can be done with analytics," said Chuck Berger, CEO at ParAccel. "This expansion of our analytic platform to connect data everywhere will deliver deeper, more meaningful insight and sustainable competitive advantage. The new value equations is this: big data plus big analytics equals big value."
