MARKET

Dialog's Green VoIP chipset enables Avantec's customers to reduce the power
usage of hotel room phones by half and increase the sound quality

Kirchheim/Teck, Germany, 7 March 2013 - Dialog Semiconductor plc (FWB:
DLG), a provider of highly integrated power management, audio and short
range wireless technologies, today announced that Avantec Manufacturing Ltd
has selected its ultra low power Green VoIP chipset for two new phones for
the Asian hotel resort and serviced apartment markets. Avantec is using
Dialog's SC14461 processor and Rhea(TM) software in its Hotel VoIP PH656
and Trimline VoIP PH658 corded phones.

Dialog's technology reduces the power usage of a VoIP phone by half, saving
up to 2 Watts per device over comparable solutions on the market. Its
multicore architecture features three processors that run on lower clock
frequencies and are activated according to actual usage needs. One 16-bit
CompactRISC(TM) processor is used to manage the VoIP software, networking
stack and user interface and two programmable Digital Signal Processors
(DSPs) to handle the real-time audio. The chipset also includes a Class D
amplifier to support hands-free speakers on the phones.

Louis Y. Lei, Product Manager at Avantec Manufacturing Ltd, commented,
'Dialog's Green VoIP processors have the lowest power consumption figures
in the industry as well as providing superb audio quality, which we believe
will bring significant benefits our hospitality customers throughout Asia.
Dialog's easy-to-use Rhea software, tools and comprehensive support have
enabled us to accelerate the availability of our new VoIP phones.'

Using the G.722 High Definition (HD) wideband voice standard, Dialog's DSPs
compress the audio signals and extend their frequency range to 16kHz to
enhance speech quality and reduce bandwidth usage. Combined with advanced
acoustic echo cancellation software algorithms, this helps to deliver
crystal clear conversations.

Sean McGrath, Vice President of the Connectivity, Automotive and Industrial
business group at Dialog Semiconductor, commented, 'Dialog's Green VoIP
technology is very energy-efficient in comparison to other solutions on the
market, enabling Avantec's hospitality customers to save money by running
voice and data communications over one network and ensure the sound quality
of the calls is exceptionally high. It's a market that has significant
potential for growth as standard hotel PBXs provide limited features and
are very expensive to purchase and maintain.'
