The Lawrence Hall of Science Joins With the National Park Foundation To Support the 2013 White House Easter Egg Roll

The Lawrence Hall of Science will deliver two science-focused activities to encourage active science learning.

BERKELEY, Calif., April 1, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Lawrence Hall of Science announces that it will join with the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America's national parks, to bring science activities to the White House Easter Egg Roll for the 4th straight year.

The 2013 Easter Egg Roll, which takes place today on the South Lawn of the White House, is focused on promoting health and wellness with the theme, "Be Healthy, Be Active, Be You!" The event will feature live music, sports courts, cooking stations, storytelling and, of course, Easter egg rolling. The activities will encourage children to lead healthy, active lives in support of the First Lady's Let's Move! initiative. In addition, official White House Easter Eggs, sold by NPF, are available at easter.nationalparks.org.

At the event, the Hall will team up with kids and families to design paper bag kites and then run like the wind to see how high they fly. Families will also make paper bunny copters, which demonstrate principles of gravity and lift, as they twirl after being thrown.
