Huntington Learning Center Launches Free Vocabulary for College-Bound Students Practice App for iPhone/iPad

ORADELL, NJ--(Marketwired - Jun 11, 2013) - Huntington Learning Center, the nation's longest running tutoring services provider, announced today the launch of its first iPhone/iPad app, Huntington TopWords, a vocabulary practice tool to help students prepare for the SAT*, ACT* and other college entrance exams. The app is downloadable for free in the Apple iTunes Store.

Huntington's TopWords app enables students to quiz themselves on vocabulary words that have appeared on the SAT, ACT and other college entrance exams. Students can build their vocabulary skills by using three modes:

• Flash cards - Tap the screen to "flip over" the flash card for the vocabulary word's definition, pronunciation and an example of the word being used in a sentence.
• Multiple choice - Read a sentence and then choose one of four words to fill in the blank in order to make the sentence make sense.
• Word search - Search through the glossary of vocabulary words or scroll through all 101 words (each of which has a definition and sample sentence).

"These words are known to appear frequently on college entrance exams and are an excellent starting point for any student preparing for the vocabulary sections of the ACT and SAT," said Dr. Raymond Huntington, chairman and founder of Huntington Learning Center. The TopWords app is available now in the iTunes App Store and is compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Search for "TopWords" to find the free app. According to Dr. Huntington, the company plans to offer additional study-tool apps in the future.
