USHCC to Host Fourth Annual Latino ERG Summit at 2013 Chicago Convention

WASHINGTON, July 17, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) is proud to announce the Fourth Annual Latino Employee Resource Group (ERG) Summit and Corporate Challenge. The summit is the largest gathering of Hispanic ERGs in the nation and is slated for Monday, September 16, 2013 during the USHCC 34th Annual National Convention in Chicago, Illinois.

The Latino ERG Summit and Corporate Challenge, a key component of the USHCC's annual convention, brings together ERGs to share best practices and provide compelling results on the value of Hispanic executives and employees in corporate America. Employee resource groups as a whole play a crucial role in ensuring corporations are improving diversity recruitment and retention, diversity in management, talent development, and reaching a wider range of consumer segments.

"The USHCC launched the first-ever Latino ERG Summit 4 years ago in Dallas as a testament to the tremendous impact these groups have on the development and success of corporate executives as well as creating a competitive advantage for their companies," says Javier Palomarez, USHCC President & CEO. "We look forward to another successful Summit as these ERGs gather in Chicago to showcase their contributions that ultimately improve the bottom line of corporations across America."

Over the last three years, over 80 outstanding corporations have actively competed in the challenge, including JPMorgan Chase, AT &T, Aetna, Bank of America, and ExxonMobil. These companies' ERGs compete based on their impact in four key areas: career advancement of Hispanic professionals, alignment of ERG initiatives and corporate objectives, community involvement, and cultural advancement within the firm.

"The USHCC's continued focus on Latino ERG development will be on display at this year's summit, and we look forward to identifying and awarding another outstanding organization," adds USHCC Chairman of the Board Marc Rodriguez.

Serving as Chair of the 2013 Summit and Corporate Challenge will be Dr. Robert Rodriguez, President of DRR Advisors LLC.

"I am incredibly excited about the fourth annual Latino ERG Summit & Corporate Challenge," states Dr. Rodriguez. "These groups are leading the positive evolution of corporate employee networks and are setting the benchmark for what it means to be a next generation employee resource group."
