Antonio J. Reynolds Latest Addition to Law Firm's Growing Criminal & Civil Enforcement and Litigation Practice

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - Sep 16, 2013) - BuckleySandler LLP, a nationally recognized financial services and criminal and civil enforcement defense law firm, has welcomed Antonio J. Reynolds, former Assistant United States Attorney, Criminal Division for the District of Maryland, to the firm as Counsel in its Washington, DC office. Reynolds will represent leading financial services companies and other major corporations, as well as their officers and directors, in a variety of civil and criminal state and federal enforcement matters.

From February 2011 to September 2013, Reynolds served as a federal prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Maryland, where he prosecuted a wide range of federal crimes in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Before joining the U.S. Attorney's Office, Reynolds was an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in Washington, DC. While at Cleary Gottlieb, Reynolds represented financial institutions, corporations and corporate executives in high profile, complex investigations conducted by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice, state attorneys general, Congress and numerous foreign governmental entities. In addition, he handled a wide range of complex commercial litigation and appellate litigation, including private class action suits primarily in the securities and antitrust contexts. Previously, he served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Margaret B. Seymour of the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina.

"Financial services and other corporate entities continue to grapple with increased scrutiny and regulations and it is vital for our clients to have a team with broad experience in defending against complex enforcement and criminal prosecutions working on their behalf," explained BuckleySandler Chairman and Executive Partner, Andrew L. Sandler. "Antonio is a multi-dimensional litigator with significant complex trial and enforcement experience, which complements our white collar and civil litigation practices by providing clients with added insight into the federal enforcement issues they may face."

Reynolds is the latest addition to BuckleySandler's national Criminal & Civil Enforcement and Litigation practice, which has recently added Richard E. Gottlieb and Fredrick S. Levin, partners in its Los Angeles and Chicago offices and Brett J. Natarelli, an associate in the firm's Chicago office.

"When it comes to representing financial services companies in complex state and federal government investigations, BuckleySandler has established itself as a leading law firm. I am impressed by the firm's growth and success and am looking forward to playing a role in its continued expansion," said Reynolds.

Reynolds holds a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from Duke University.
