The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards, celebrating 20 years of honouring entrepreneurship and innovation in Canada hosted the Regional Finals for the Prairies in Calgary, Alberta last night. At the event it was revealed that Dale Wishewan, President & CEO of Booster Juice, had won the award in the category of "Business to Consumer" for the Prairies Region. The awards for Dale did not stop there as he went on to win the very prestigious EY 2013 Prairies Entrepreneur of the Year from an incredible list of category winners.

The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards honour Canada's leading entrepreneurs from all areas of business. Award finalists are based on their vision, leadership, financial success and contributions to social responsibility.

"It is such a huge honour to be recognized for this award. It's hard to imagine that 14 years ago I was mixing the first concoctions in my kitchen and coming up with smoothie names and about to be leaving a successful engineering career. I feel so fortunate that Canadians embraced the concept both from a consumer side and an entrepreneurship side. There is a long list of franchise partners who have helped grow Booster Juice into the brand it is today," said Wishewan.

"Dale is a natural leader and born entrepreneur. With no franchise, food or beverage experience he grew Booster Juice to 50 locations in just two years. Dale set out to create an international brand when the concept of on-the-go smoothies was in its infancy," says Rob Jolley, EY Prairies Entrepreneur of the Year program director. He added, "that's exactly the kind of fearless forward thinking we need to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs. "

"I'm thankful to be surrounded by a group of key individuals who make a genuine contribution day in and day out. I'm also so grateful for my family who are supportive of my entrepreneurial spirit," said Wishewan.

Booster Juice, Canada's favorite juice and smoothie bar was founded in 1999 in Sherwood Park, Alberta, and now has over 300 locations in six countries. Booster Juice provides customers with an incredibly delicious, fun, convenient and healthy alternative to fast food. For more information on Booster Juice visit www.boosterjuice.com.
