NetSeer Appoints Dennis Clerke President of Monetization

Seasoned Executive to Pursue Long-Term Growth and Expansion of Related-Search Ad Solutions for Publishers and Technology Partners

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 5, 2013) - NetSeer™, the creator of Concept targeting for advertisers and publishers, today announced the appointment of Dennis Clerke as president of monetization, reporting directly to NetSeer CEO John Mracek. NetSeer provides ad-targeting solutions based on its patented ConceptGraph™ intent engine that emulates human thinking by forming natural associations between words and ideas.

In this new role, Clerke is tasked with forging technology partnerships and publisher relationships. With purview over NetSeer's ConceptLinks™ related-search advertising business, Clerke will assist clients in generating additional revenue streams through the strategic insertion of relevant links to related topics on publishers' websites, mobile sites and apps, and newsletters.

In his previous roles as managing director of DaggerBoard Advisors, LLC, and executive vice president of Software Equity Group, Clerke advised a number of emerging software companies, including NetSeer. He also played a critical role in NetSeer's early business growth and sales strategy, initiating successful partnerships with Microsoft, DataXu and other major players in the advertising ecosystem.

"With the search engine giants now obscuring critical keyword referral data, there's a tremendous opportunity to extend our core ConceptLinks technology to publishers and their search-query based ad partners," said Clerke. "NetSeer's content-driven Concept 'signals' fill the data gap by providing critical insight about a page's intent in order to fuel publishers' revenue streams, while ensuring advertisers' messages remain relevant to their audiences."

Clerke joins NetSeer with more than three decades of executive leadership in the software industry. Prior to NetSeer, Clerke served as CEO of Alignent, where he led the sale of Alignent Software to Sopheon. He also held the position of co-founder, president and CEO of Cardiff Software, where he grew the company's revenue from zero to $30M in sales -- eventually leading to its acquisition by Verity in 2004.

"Dennis Clerke is a highly strategic addition to our leadership team whose experience is indispensible to our publisher advertising business, which has experienced 200 percent year-over-year growth since 2012," said John Mracek, CEO of NetSeer. "Dennis is fluent in the challenges that publishers and partners are facing, and we are confident he will bring increased value not only to our partners but also to key areas of product innovation and growth -- both internally and externally. It's great to have him officially on board."
