SolarWorld AG updates impairments for the past fiscal year 2012

In the course of the implementation of the financial restructuring of
SolarWorld AG, which is proceeding as planned, the group financial
statements of the past fiscal year 2012 are being audited with regard to
adjusting events. Impairment tests on fixed assets of the SolarWorld group
have been updated, which result in further impairments for fiscal year
2012.

According to provisional findings from these adjusted impairment tests,
depreciations in fiscal year 2012 are expected to increase by about EUR 140
million to EUR 418 (2011: EUR 453) million compared to the preliminary and
unaudited figures issued on April 30, 2013. Because of the increase in
depreciations, EBIT for the past fiscal year 2012 will differ from the
preliminary and unaudited figures (EUR -492 million). EBIT is expected to
amount to about EUR -620 million. Group earnings 2012 will be adjusted from
EUR -476 million to about EUR -606 (2011: EUR -307) million.

These additional impairments are not cash relevant and neither affect the
operative business nor liquid funds of the SolarWorld group.

SolarWorld AG will presumably release its final group report for fiscal
year 2012 in January 2014.
