EnerNOC Updates Energy Intelligence Software Platform

SAN ANTONIO and BOSTON, Jan. 28, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- EnerNOC, Inc. (Nasdaq:ENOC), a leading provider of energy intelligence software (EIS), today announced the latest updates to its technology platform for enterprise customers. This new release allows customers to view projected energy efficiency baselines, benchmark their buildings against similar facilities, and take action to reduce on- versus off-peak energy usage.

"Our enterprise customers understand that energy is not a fixed cost like rent," said Tim Healy, Chairman and CEO of EnerNOC. "This release helps them connect energy usage to spend and enhance their competitive edge. We are excited to build on this release and continue to drive adoption of energy intelligence software in 2014."

Projected energy efficiency baselines give customers granular, seasonally-adjusted visibility into expected energy use and improve accuracy of budget and operating costs. This data is also visible in monthly and daily dashboard views.

With the inclusion of Commercial Building Energy Consumption Survey (CBECS) data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration in EnerNOC's software platform, users can not only rank buildings in their portfolio by energy intensity, but also compare building energy intensity to similar buildings within the comprehensive CBECS database of over 12,000 commercial buildings in the United States, and also see average disaggregated energy use for similar individual buildings.

"For our enterprise customers with multi-site portfolios that include facilities of varied size, type, and energy usage, this update is particularly beneficial," said Fielder Hiss, Vice President of Product Management at EnerNOC. "Providing this new information to better understand energy usage and being able to budget accordingly – which now includes forward-looking capabilities – empowers our customers to not only take control of energy costs but also get ahead of them and be more proactive than ever before."

EnerNOC's software platform update also includes new on-peak versus off-peak analysis that breaks out consumption by day in kilowatt-hours and currency. This functionality identifies days where a savings opportunity exists and enables users to adjust building settings or production schedules away from on-peak hours, which can be the root cause of significant energy costs.
