SmartMetric and Patent Infringement Defendant's Visa Inc. & MasterCard International Are Now Awaiting Hearing Scheduling Advisement From the Federal Circuit Court

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - May 12, 2014) - SmartMetric, Inc. (OTCQB: SMME) -- Speaking today, SmartMetric™ Inc. President & CEO Chaya Hendrick said the company is awaiting notice from the Federal Circuit Court of the scheduled hearing date for the hearing of its case dealing with alleged patent infringement by both Visa Inc. and MasterCard International. Both the Company and the Defendants have filed their briefs in the case. SmartMetric is asking the court to make a ruling of infringement based on a finding of control of the accused technology by the defendants. SmartMetric in earlier court filings has claimed $13.4 billion against the payment card companies.

It has been indicated that the Circuit Court hearing could be set for either July or August with a decision normally taking up to two months from the date of hearing. These final dates on scheduling are yet to be advised by the Court.
