Performing Arts Alive and Well in the Kootenays

CRANBROOK, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - May 16, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

Key City Theatre is receiving support from the Government of Canada through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund to present its 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 performance seasons. The Theatre will also present a new festival called the SoWeCa Chamber Music Festival. This year's festival opens on May 23 and includes performances throughout communities in the East Kootenays.

Federal funding of $50,000 over two years ($25,000 in 2014-2015 and $25,000 in 2015-2016) was announced today by David Wilks, Member of Parliament (Kootenay-Columbia), on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.
