Thermador Supports Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire to Grant Local Girl's Wish to Be a Chef

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwired - May 30, 2014) - Thermador, the luxury home appliance brand that offers real innovations for real cooks, partnered with Make-A-Wish® Orange County and the Inland Empire to help make a young girl's wish come true. On May 29, Thermador hosted six-year-old Amina Ihmud at the Thermador Experience & Design Center in Irvine, Calif., to grant her wish of being a chef and help her open her very own café for a night.

"We are so honored to grant Amina's wish to be a chef," said Zach Elkin, director of brand marketing. "Not only are we proud to turn her dream into reality, but to also support and give back to the Orange County and greater Southern California community. It is so rewarding to work with such an influential organization and help bring a wonderful experience to this young culinary enthusiast and her family."

With the help of Thermador, Amina's wish became a reality as she transformed into a chef for the night, cooking up a meal in the brand's kitchen theater alongside the in-house Thermador chef, Chef Kyle Jakobi. Amina was presented with a chef's coat and other culinary-inspired treats by Elkin and Beatriz Sandoval, senior manager, marketing for Thermador. Once Amina's culinary masterpieces were complete, she served her delectable dishes to patrons of the café, which included family and friends.

"Thermador was instrumental in helping us bring Amina's wish to life," said Stephanie McCormick, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire. "We are thrilled to have a local brand, like Thermador, so dedicated to giving back to local children in our community."

As the evening concluded, the BSH Home Appliances Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing John Iacoviello presented Make-A-Wish with a donation of more than $10,000. The parent company of Thermador, BSH Home Appliances matched employee donations to help Make-A-Wish continue to make wishes come true for other area children.
