National Bank of Arizona Leverages Individual Strengths in Promotion of Four Executive Leaders


PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwired - Jun 11, 2014) - National Bank of Arizona (NB|AZ) is proud to announce the promotion of four of its executives citing individual leadership attributes that strengthen the bank as a whole. Jathan Segur will succeed Deborah Bateman as executive vice president, director of wealth strategies and Bateman will transition to the role of vice chair of the NB|AZ Board of Directors. Laura Schaeffer will be promoted to executive vice president, director of operations and technology, and Joy Antolini will be promoted to executive vice president, director of human resources.

Segur, previously senior vice president, sales and marketing at NB|AZ, brings 17 years of banking experience, including sales, management, marketing and consumer banking to his new executive leadership role. As executive vice president, director of wealth strategies, Segur will bring his dynamic leadership to his new role where he will manage the $1.35 billion Wealth Strategies division, which includes the Executive Banking, Private Banking, Wealth Management, Nonprofit Banking and Marketing departments. Known for the passion and creativity he brings to marketing and business ideas, Segur serves on the Board of Directors for Ballet Arizona, serves as a board member with the Center for the Future of Arizona, and is actively engaged in numerous philanthropic efforts.

Bateman, a pillar in the Phoenix community with a legacy of connecting people and ideas, brings more than 40 years of banking experience to her new position as vice chair of the NB|AZ Board of Directors. She has paved the way for three niche specialties at NB|AZ; the Women's Financial Group (WFG), Not for Profit Banking, and Medical Banking. As an active and empathetic member of the community, Bateman currently serves on the Board of Directors for FreshStart Women's Foundation, The O'Connor House, Florence Crittenton and the Phoenix Suns Charities. Utilizing her community involvement and professional mentorship, Deborah will continue to put her passion behind the mission of NB|AZ to focus on the bank's impact on Arizona communities. 

Laura Schaeffer brings to her new role, a wealth of experience with deposit, treasury, and digital product design and management. As executive vice president, director of operations and technology, Schaeffer will be instrumental in the creation of customer-centric delivery models and she will continue as lead ambassador of the NB|AZ Leadership Challenge -- a program to develop and deliver a values-driven leadership culture.

With years of experience in building a strong workforce and fostering company culture, Joy Antolini has been promoted to executive vice president, director of human resources. Antolini will be responsible for providing strategic oversight of all human resource functions, including the recruitment and retention of financial talent, as well as leading employees in exemplifying the culture and core values of NB|AZ.
