San Jose Pot Club Referendum to Save Medical Marijuana Underway

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 27, 2014) -  Control & Regulate San Jose (CRSJ) announces a referendum is fully underway. Once again, San Jose Cannabis clubs are forced to qualify a referendum to stop the City of San Jose's unreasonable regulations. San Jose Cannabis clubs have done this before; in 2011 they gathered 38,000 signatures in less than 30 days. This time around clubs face a greater challenge, collecting signatures for two referendums simultaneously, with less than 20 days to collect over 33,000 signatures on both petitions.

"We know we can get this done," said Dave Hodges, Founder of the All American Cannabis Club and member of the Silicon Valley Cannabis Coalition (SVCC). "For many clubs this is a do-or-die situation, with no other option available. They couldn't be more motivated to make this happen."

San Jose's regulations require all concentrates, edibles and topicals be produced on-site, by the collective. Medical marijuana vendors statewide will not be allowed to provide any products to collectives in San Jose. Outdoor growing is banned as are medical marijuana patients ages 18 to 20 from working at, or even getting medication from, collectives.

Members of CRSJ will be descending on the HighTimes Cannabis Cup this weekend. They plan to ask every patient, dispensary, delivery service, grower, edible maker and concentrate producer for money and volunteers to save cannabis clubs.

"A referendum is the only option we have," said John Lee, director of the Silicon Valley Cannabis Coalition and CRSJ. "San Jose's regulations will put hundreds of people out of work and shift the sales of marijuana back to the black market. Virtually overnight new drug dealers will be opening up shop in residential neighborhoods."

Signature Gathering Pay Rates & Details:
CRSJ has 2 petitions, thus each person equals 2 signatures.
CRSJ will pay $1 per signature ($2 per person signing) plus a bonus for valid ones.

• $1.50 per VALID signature ($3 per person signing, total $5) for 1001-2500
