The VAC provides free air transportation to combat wounded and their families through a national network of volunteer aircraft owners and pilots. Bullock sustained multiple fractures of the hip, ribs and face in addition to losing his right leg and right arm, in November of 2013. Emmons was injured in night time operations on October 6, 2013, resulting in the loss of his lower right leg and a severely damaged left leg. Konvicka accompanied these inspirational wounded warriors, aiding in their completion of the race this past weekend.

The plane, piloted by Johnny Johnston, Window World's chief pilot and army veteran, departed Washington-Dulles International Airport following Saturday's race on the Window World corporate aircraft. "It is a true honor to provide support to these American heroes for all they have given to our country," said Window World of D.C. owner, Greg Deathridge.
