In September, Finnair's overall capacity was flat and traffic measured in
Revenue Passenger Kilometres decreased by 1.2 per cent year‐on‐year. Passenger
load factor was 80.2 per cent.
The capacity in Asian traffic decreased by 5.0 per cent and the traffic measured
in Revenue Passenger Kilometres by 2.9 per cent year‐on‐year.
European traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres grew by 9.8 per cent
and capacity by 13.6 per cent year-on-year.
In July–September, the passenger unit revenue* per available seat kilometre fell
by 2.0 per cent year‐on-year and totalled 5.76 euro cents.
“The third quarter was seasonally strong, as typical. However, due to
challenging market conditions, passenger unit revenue fell slightly year-on
-year,” says Finnair CFO Erno Hildén.
Leisure traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres decreased by 33.4 per
cent and capacity decreased by 32.7 per cent year-on-year.
In cargo, traffic measured in revenue tonne kilometres decreased by 0.8 per cent
and the overall capacity by 8.7 per cent year-on-year. The load factor improved
by 5.2 percentage points from last year’s level and was 64.6 per cent.
In September, 92.9 per cent of scheduled flights arrived on schedule (91.0). Of
all traffic, 92.7 per cent (90.4) of flights were on schedule.
