Magma Showcases New Mac Pro(R) Rackmount Kit with Thunderbolt(TM) PCIe Expansion at 137th AES Convention

Magma offers a rack-mount solution for the new Apple Mac Pro(R) and Thunderbolt PCIe expansion products.

SAN DIEGO, Calif., Oct. 8, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - Magma, a manufacturer of computer expansion products for servers, desktops and portable platforms, will showcase their new Mac Pro® Rackmount Kit with ExpressBox 3T expansion at the 137th Audio Engineers Society Convention (AES) in Los Angeles. Magma's Mac Pro Rackmount Kit is the ideal solution for audio, post production and broadcast facilities who are now migrating to the new Apple Mac Pro and need access to PCIe cards. Magma's new Mac Pro Rackmount Kit product provides an easy solution for rack-mounting the Mac Pro and providing an easy access space for Magma's ExpressBox 3T - Thunderbolt™ PCIe expansion chassis.

The Mac Pro Rackmount Kit can be installed as a 3U or 4U solution and includes a horizontal mounting bracket for the cylinder Mac Pro. Additionally, there is space to store a Magma ExpressBox 3T, giving users 3 PCIe slots in a separate enclosure for attaching a variety of PCIe cards including audio, video capture, networking, and SSD storage over a Thunderbolt 2 connection. Keeping the new Mac Pro separate from the PCIe expansion chassis provides easy and quick access to cables, ports, and cards. Users can quickly disconnect their ExpressBox 3T and take their valuable PCIe cards with them on the go.

"The thinking behind Magma's newest Thunderbolt solution is simple," said Magma president, Timothy Miller. "Give creative professionals maximum access and flexibility to their hardware. Our new Mac Pro Rackmount Kit delivers on both of those principles and makes for an incredibly easy user experience."

The Magma Mac Pro Rackmount Kit is available for purchase bundled with Magma's popular ExpressBox 3T, or it can be purchased separately and used with other Magma expansion products.

The Mac Pro Rackmount Kit is constructed from high-strength galvanized steal and provides secure locking brackets for the cylinder Mac Pro, a pull out tray for easy access, and cable ties for cable management. The ExpressBox 3T expansion chassis offers Thunderbolt 2 connectivity, 3 full-length PCIe slots, and multiple cooling options, all in a sleek aluminum case.

Magma will have the Mac Pro Rackmount Kit on display with ExpressBox 3T in the Avid Partners Pavilion at the 137th AES from October 9th through 12th with product experts on hand to answer questions. Magma currently features a line of expansion computing products that have been Avid approved for Pro Tools applications. Magma will be unveiling release dates through their website.
