University of Advancing Technology President Recipient of Prestigious Sam and Olga Bender Award


TEMPE, AZ--(Marketwired - Nov 19, 2014) - University of Advancing Technology (UAT) President Jason Pistillo was honored recently at the East Valley Institute of Technology Education Foundation (EVITEF) annual fundraiser breakfast. EVIT Superintendent Dr. Sally Downey awarded Mr. Pistillo the prestigious Sam and Olga Bender Award. One of EVIT's highest honors, the award is given to a partner who makes the greatest contribution of time, energy, and commitment to the school.

Upon receipt of the award, Pistillo said, "The students of EVIT are afforded tremendous opportunities." He continued, "As the President of one of the only 100% STEM-based Universities in the nation, the need for technology innovators in industry is critical. EVIT's programs allow students the opportunity to engage early. I am proud to be a part and humbled by this award." UAT's contributions to the students at EVIT include, but are not limited to, a full motion capture (MOCAP) system and over 500 computers. EVITEF's annual fundraising breakfast seeks to provide scholarships for qualifying low-income students and to assist students in paying for class fees, uniforms, kits and tools.
