Sunshine Village Opens Delirium Dive

BANFF, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Dec. 30, 2014) - Sunshine Village Ski Resort is poised to open one of the most recognized free ride zones around the globe with the launch of Delirium Dive today, Tuesday, December 30th in the afternoon.

"Through the excellent work of both our ski patrol and snow safety teams, we are pleased to announce the opening of this challenging off-piste terrain," begins Dave Riley, Chief Operating Officer, Sunshine Village Ski Resort. "The opening of Delirium Dive is a testament to Sunshine's emphasis in providing guests an exceptional skiing and riding experience."

Early season conditions exist, so skiers and riders are asked to use caution as hazards are unmarked. Like all of Sunshine's free ride zones, the following safety requirements are mandatory for access: You must carry an avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe and must have a partner with you who is also competent in using the above-mentioned equipment.

The Dive features over 2,000 feet of vertical, a 40 degree average pitch and over 600 acres of terrain. Excellent, untouched powder conditions can be found on the lower half of the off-piste terrain. Delirium Dive is subject to weather and snow safety closures.

The resort also provides guided programs for expert skiers and snowboarders through Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard School.
