MorphoTrak Appoints FBI's Scott Swann as Senior Director of Innovation


ALEXANDRIA, VA--(Marketwired - January 06, 2015) - MorphoTrak, a U.S.-based Morpho (Safran) company, announced Scott Swann has joined the company as the Senior Director of Innovation for the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Business Unit. In this role, Mr. Swann is responsible for identifying, researching and developing customer solutions; leveraging Morpho's industry leading biometric and security technologies. He most recently served as Special Assistant to the FBI Executive Assistant Director of the Science and Technology Branch. Mr. Swann is a well-recognized leader in the advancement of biometric technologies.

During his many years serving the FBI, Mr. Swann fulfilled several strategic missions. In his most recent Special Assistant role, he helped the Executive Assistant Director of Science and Technology manage priorities for the largest Branch budget within the FBI.

Prior to that he served as an Executive Officer in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, as a subject matter expert of Biometrics and Identity Intelligence (I2).

From 2009 to 2011 while a Unit Chief at the FBI CJIS Division, Mr. Swann served as the FBI Agency Primary representative to the National Science Technology Council Subcommittee on Biometrics and Identity Management and Chairperson for the Department of Justice Biometric Cooperative. In support of the Next Generation Identification Program, Mr. Swann was responsible for directing, coordinating, and administering research, development, test and evaluation of biometrics technologies and services.

Mr Swann holds a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute. He obtained an undergraduate degree in business management from Salem-Teikyo University and a Master's in software engineering from West Virginia University.
