Govan Brown Completes First of Four Nordstrom Stores in Ontario

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - March 16, 2015) - On Friday, March 6^th, the much anticipated Nordstrom store opened its doors in Ottawa's Rideau Centre. The 157,000 square foot store includes all of the latest Nordstrom design concepts, including an abundance of natural light, luxurious stone and carpeted floors. Ceiling treatments include both warm wood ceilings and drywall clouds suspended from an open structure that glow with light. The e-Bar Café opens directly on to the mall, while the second floor Bazille Restaurant and Bar overlooks a dining terrace complete with umbrellas and heaters. The Nordstrom façade, facing the Mackenzie King Bridge was transformed into a sleek, tiled and glazed façade complete with a glazed canopy. Much of this style can be seen throughout the design of the opulent store.

Crowds gathered for the pre-grand opening "Beauty Bash"; a celebration that included a live band, breakfast, complimentary beauty makeovers and free samples. Doors opened at 9:30 am and shoppers were welcomed inside the shopping mecca.

The Nordstrom Rideau Centre store is the first of four Nordstrom stores to be built by Govan Brown. The Toronto Eaton Centre location, now underway, will be followed by stores at Yorkdale Mall and Sherway Gardens which will be built from the ground up.
