INDIANAPOLIS, March 17, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Make-A-Wish® Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana was named the winner of the "Tip the Hat Award" by the LIDS Foundation, a charitable 501(c)(3) organization and the philanthropic support arm of LIDS Sports Group. Make-A-Wish will be awarded $125,000 for winning the grant competition where voters selected one of five top charities to receive grants. Voting took place over a two week period.

"These funds will help us grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions and further our mission to provide hope, strength and joy for wish kids across our chapter."
With a mission to support healthy and active youth programs, the LIDS Foundation selected five charitable organizations with a similar focus. Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana took home the top prize. Grants of various amounts will also be awarded to the Anthony Munoz Foundation, Fields & Futures, Little Wish Foundation and Special Olympics.
