Demartek Evaluation of HP 3PAR StoreServ 7450 16GFC All-Flash Storage

GOLDEN, CO--(Marketwired - Mar 30, 2015) -  Demartek, an independent computer industry analyst firm with its own computer test lab, today announces that it has evaluated the HP 3PAR StoreServ 7450 16GFC All-Flash Storage Array in a real-world database application environment.

"HP recently added 16 Gb Fibre Channel (16GFC) capabilities to the HP 3PAR StoreServ 7450 all-flash storage array, and we compared its performance to the previous 8 Gb Fibre Channel (8GFC) performance capabilities," said Dennis Martin, Demartek President. "By replacing the 8GFC components with 16GFC components on the HP 3PAR StoreServ 7450 all-flash array, FC switch, and on the host HBAs, we saw storage I/O bandwidth and IOPs increase by 35% without making any application-level changes to an already fairly well performing workload. Latency improved by a factor of 2.5X or better, remaining significantly and consistently under one millisecond. In our opinion, upgrading Fibre Channel components to 16GFC has an immediate payoff in environments where the rather significant investment in high-performance storage has already been made or is planned."
