Media Advisory: Canadian Armed Forces to Parade in Downtown Toronto to Commemorate 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Netherlands


TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 1, 2015) - Media are invited to watch members of the Canadian Armed Forces parading down Yonge St. on Saturday May 2, 2015. This parade is part of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands.

The soldiers of 32 Canadian Brigade Group, joined by Royal Canadian Navy reservists from HMCS YORK and HMCS STAR, will be marching to Nathan Phillips Square to join the Thank You Canada Dutch Liberation Festival, which commemorates the end of the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands in May 1945.

When: 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015.

Where: From Jarvis St. and Queen St., north on Jarvis St., west on Carlton St., south on Yonge St. to Queen St., west to Nathan Phillips Square.
