CROCS ON A PLANE!

Innovative Advertising on Spirit Aircraft Promote Popular Footwear Brand

MIRAMAR, FL, May 5, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- A famous actor once made it clear that he didn't like "Snakes on a Plane." We wonder what he would think about Crocs on a plane. The next time you are on a Spirit Airlines flight, you might be staring right at some crocs – not the menacing aquatic reptile, but the popular footwear. Crocs, Inc., famous for their iconic clogs, has taken advantage of an innovative advertising opportunity on Spirit's planes with a new campaign called #FindYourFun. Starting today, Spirit customers throughout the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean will see tray tables, sidewall panels, overhead bins and bulkheads with Crocs advertising.

Throughout the aircraft, the Crocs' clog silhouette appears in exciting and whimsical locations like the beach, in the clouds, and on an island. The ads will be visible to Spirit customers for the entire duration of their flight.

"Onboard advertising is becoming more popular among brands that want to reach a captive audience," said Bobby Schroeter, Spirit Airlines Vice President of Consumer Marketing. "The advertising also benefits our customers because the additional revenue helps us keep our fares low, which is what we're all about at Spirit."

Onboard advertising works. Spirit's onboard ads have an audience recall rate of 93 percent[1], results that are practically unachievable with traditional advertising methods. On average, Spirit customers spend approximately three hours on a plane on the carrier's more than 325 daily flights. This is a very attractive audience for any brand.

"We are thrilled about having Spirit Airlines aircraft themed with Crocs #FindYourFun Campaign," said Terence Reilly, Crocs Vice President of Global Marketing. "This is a unique project because no other airline in the United States has done it before, and Spirit is known for doing things differently. Our campaign promotes having fun; and these ads provide the perfect opportunity to reach Spirit's customers as they go to fun and exciting destinations."

Along with Crocs, many major companies such as Coca Cola, Cartoon Network, Hard Rock, Budweiser and Bank of America have taken advantage of Spirit's onboard advertising opportunities. To know more about how to advertise with Spirit Airlines, please visit www.Spirit.com/advertise.
