HONOLULU, May 11, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Richard Emery, Associa Hawaii regional vice president and former president and principal broker of Hawaii First, an Associa company, will be recognized by Mental Health America of Hawaii as its Outstanding Business Leader. The long-time community management professional will be honored at the 10th Annual Mental Health MAHALO Awards Luncheon on May 12 at the Ala Moana Hotel in Honolulu.

Emery will receive his award at the luncheon which will be from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12. He has been supporting mental wellness for the most severely mentally ill for the past five years by providing hundreds of gourmet meals and gift certificates to all five Oahu Clubhouses (psychosocial rehabilitation programs for people with severe mental illness).
Emery holds the Community Associations Institute (CAI) designation of Professional Reserve Analyst®, one of only a few in the U.S. With expertise in this highly specialized field, he has been with Hawaii First since May 1997 where he helps prepare long-term financial plans for various associations throughout Hawaii in addition to overseeing management of dozens of communities.
