Black & Veatch Selects New Director for Board

Addition of Andrew G. McMaster, Jr. Broadens Depth of Global Business Expertise

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., June 01, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Andrew G. McMaster, Jr., a retired Senior Partner, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of Deloitte & Touche LLP has been selected to join the Black & Veatch Board of Directors effective June 1, 2015. A senior executive with deep leadership experience in financial advisory services including audit and forensic accounting; and strong insights into changing regulations, McMaster’s appointment as an independent director was approved by the Black & Veatch board at their May meeting.

“Building on our strong governance structure and adding depth to our global business understanding further positions the company to achieve our growth goals. We are pleased to welcome Andy to the Board of Directors,” said Steve Edwards, Chairman and CEO of Black & Veatch. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience across many industries in key areas that we expect will drive significant growth in the years ahead.”

McMaster spent his entire 39 year career as part of Deloitte, having interned for Deloitte, Haskins & Sells while earning his degrees. He served as Vice Chairman at Deloitte since 2002 and was responsible for starting the firm’s Forensic Services Practice at a time when forensic accounting was still a very new concept. He also served as National Managing Partner of Deloitte’s CEO client program, further positioning him with the ability to bring insights from leading companies and industries to his role on Black & Veatch’s board. He also has prior board experience including Deloitte LLP and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Ltd. He serves as Vice Chair of the Hobart and William Smith Colleges Board of Trustees and was formerly the audit committee Chair for the National Episcopal Church.

“Black & Veatch and its professionals are addressing some of the most complex challenges in critical infrastructure today, and I see exciting opportunities for the future. There is no better time to join the company as it begins its next 100 years; and the company is well positioned for continued success,” said McMaster.

“Given our focus on expanding into new markets and geographies, and bringing new solutions to our clients’ growing list of business challenges, Andy’s solid business skills, along with his broad professional services and financial background, make him an ideal choice as the board leads Black & Veatch into our second century of business,” said Edwards.
